Artist's Description
The Catboat Water Lily runs with the wind as she sails toward the shore off in the distance. This is a wet-into-wet watercolor that was completed using paints by Winsor & Newton, Holbein and Daniel Smith watercolors. The brushes that I used are the newest watercolor series from Dynasty. The brand is Water Lily. The Manufacturer is FM Brush Company out of Glendale New York. FM Brush looks for synthetic solutions to natural hair. I've been using the Dynasty "Black Gold Series and their Faux Kolinsky Series for the past year or so with good success. One this painting I thought it would be fun to replace the mast with one of the Water Lily Brushes -- The idea came from a painting associate of mine who did a lovely painting of Freda Kahlo with a Water Lily brush in her mouth.
