Description
The Harbor View Hotel overlooks this picturesque lighthouse that marks the entrance to Edgartown Harbor. The current lighthouse tower was built in 1881 and was formally known as Essex Light and marked the entrance to Ipswich, MA. In 1939 Essex Light was dismantled and shipped to Edgartown, Martha\'s Vineyard on a barge. This is the tower which stands today. It was also automated in 1939 and is an active U.S. Coast Guard aid to navigation
Edgartown Light made a brief appearance in the movie Jaws.

Hi Gary, Thank you for your kind comments -- I haven't learned to work digitally so I am a traditionalist when it comes to painting.

Art is unquestionably one of the purest and highest elements in human happiness. It trains the mind through the eye, and the eye through the mind. As the sun colours flowers, so does art colour life. -- Congratulations on your recent sale of this amazing Work!

Congratulations on the sale of another one of your fine watercolor works, Tony. Fun bit of 'Jaws' info in the description also, and a vote.
P Anthony Visco replied:
Hi Wayne -- much appreciated -- I am a firm believer that we "all" enjoy the "Story" behind the painting. Also visited your sight -- where do you find the patience to do such beautiful pointillism -- wonderfully illustrative.
