Artist's Description

Not so long ago I came across this commercial fishing trawler that was beached on the shores of Plymouth Harbor. This not too attractive square transom bottom drab olive colored vessel lay bow pointing toward the shops on the waterfront in hopes off being floated on the next tide.

Unfortunately, it required an extra high tide to get the job done so she lay beached for quite a while. This gave us an opportunity to immortalize her as the subject of more than one painting. Her name is Gannet and she lay high and dry for the locals to mill around the vessel in awe of her size.
