The Trawler Crosby was the second in a series of boat portraits that I did of this interesting vessel. The first piece was commissioned by its owner at the time. The Crosby as was told to me, was formally used by the Forbes family as a means of transporting family and friends from Woods Hole, Massachusetts to Naushon Island, a privately owned Forbes family retreat and the largest island of the Elizabeth Islands just off Cape Cod.
